“The shapeshifting Selkies stalk the shores of Miðgarð. Disguising themselves with their seal skins, they lure their prey in close before ferociously lunging at them in their true form. Run away, and they will lull you into a sluggish stupor with their enchanting calls. Why anyone would prefer a charging Selkie over a cute seal, we do not know.
— In-game description
Selkie is a creature in Tribes of Midgard. They are only found on Ash Beach islands, as opposed to the normal Ash Beach biome. They are weak against Thunder weapons and attacks.
Something Fishy: A Personal Quest from Vígdís requests that you get rid of 10 Selkies.

Norse Mythology[ | ]
Selkies (also spelled silkies, sylkies, selchies) or Selkie folk (Scots: selkie fowk) meaning "Seal Folk" are mythological beings capable of therianthropy, changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin.
While "selkies" is the proper term for such shapeshifters according to an Orcadian folklorist, treatises on Shetland refer to them merely as mermen or merwomen.
Many of the folk-tales on selkie folk have been collected from the Northern Isles (Orkney and Shetland). The folk-tales frequently revolve around female selkies being coerced into relationships with humans by someone stealing and hiding their sealskin, thus exhibiting the tale motif of the swan maiden type.
