This mode focuses on Saga Quests, the ultimate test of your tribe's might, that grant additional glorious rewards for those who can conquer the trials.— Website description
Saga is one of the Modes in Tribes of Midgard. Here you will make your Last Stand defending the Seed of Yggdrasil before the endless winter.
For those who learned the ropes in Survival mode, here are some differences to look out for which can help the completion of the Saga Quests before Fimbulwinter:
Time Limit[ | ]
While there technically is no limit to how long a round can go for those prepared to fight the cold, dark battle, be aware that nights get increasingly longer and weather gets colder until finally true Fimbulwinter sets in on Day 14. The dawn no longer provides a reprieve, and the Helthings will continually bombard the village. Keep an eye on the Sundial to gauge how long you have until the Helthings return before then.
The Village[ | ]
- Get to know the vendor NPCs in the Village who replace many of the stations built by the Allforge in Survival mode.
- The Village is surrounded by a wall with Fortified Gates which can be upgraded with Materials collected or crafted. Stronger gates can sustain more hits from the Helthings and may not need as much help overnight. Don't forget to close the gates!
- Archer Towers can be built on either side of the gates and can also be upgraded to help in the fight. These towers can be stocked with Ammunitions from your own stock and the War Chest.
- There is a Golden Altar in the Longhouse behind Dagný the Seeress which will sell up to 5 Runes at an increasing cost of Golden Horns to help get you started.
- A Quest Board is found outside the Longhouse.
- A Repair Bench is near the War Chest. Unlike with the Allforge, repairing will require a trip back to the Village unless Repair Potions are on hand.

Paths[ | ]
Unlike in Survival, Saga mode has paths which extend out from the Village. These paths lead to Shrines next to nearly every Point of Interest, so pick a direction and start exploring. The sooner the Shrines are activated, the faster it is to complete Quests and other objectives.
- Note: Sticking to the path will give a speed boost to make the journey faster.
