“Though too proud to admit it, Hel did not come up with the Helkyries on her own. She might cite prophecy, vengeance, or a random flash of brilliance, but it turns out that during a bridge party (that's a thing in Niflheim, apparently), Móðguðr accidentally granted access to a mysterious four-legged stranger. The visitor clopped across Gjallarbrú and wanted an audience with the Queen. Whatever happened next is lost to time, but Hel got a lot of bold, equestrian ideas.
