Hel had never forgiven Óðinn for casting her to the dark Realm. But in her many schemes for vengeance, none hurt the Allfather more than the creation of the Helkyries. Vowing to have an eternal fighting force of her own, like the Einherjar, Hel managed to sway a number of Valkyrie from their allegiance to Asgarð and taught them the same Soul stealing arts of Niflheim that birthed the Helthings. Gifting them this Gear, the first flight of the Helkyries was formed, and they looked cool as Hel.
